Four players. Fewest points wins.

You play with all 52 cards, thirteen per player, against Mira, Otto and Nell: three computer opponents. There are no teams or trumps. Aces are high. Each hand contains thirteen tricks; each trick contains one card from every player.

Before play, choose three cards and confirm the pass. Passing rotates left, right, across, then no pass. The player holding 2♣ after passing leads it. Follow the led suit whenever possible. Otherwise discard another suit; the highest card of the led suit wins the trick and leads next.

Hearts score one penalty each and Q♠ scores thirteen. On the first trick, do not discard either when a non-penalty card is available. A hand containing only penalty cards may discard one. Hearts cannot be led until a heart has been played, unless you hold only hearts. Q♠ alone does not break hearts.

Take none—or take them all

Capture all thirteen hearts and Q♠ in a hand to shoot the moon: you score zero and each opponent adds 26. You do not need every trick. Hand scores are added only after all thirteen tricks, including the moon adjustment. When anyone reaches at least 100 points, the unique lowest total wins. If the lowest total is tied, play another full hand.

Twelve full-match levels

Win the whole match to unlock the next level. Next hand stays inside your current level; the Level button begins a newly unlocked match. Retry restores the current level from hand one, keeping earned unlocks. Every selected match start has a recorded winning path against its fixed opponents, but your own choices can still lose.

The first four levels use novice opponents, the next four steady opponents, and the last four expert opponents. These labels describe different strategies; their difficulty has not been calibrated with human players. The AI uses its own cards and public play, including remembered void suits. It cannot inspect your hand or choose its pass after seeing your incoming cards.

Practice Undo, controls and AI turns

Tap a card to select it for passing; tap it again to deselect. Confirm only when three are selected. During play, tap a highlighted legal card to play it. Tab reaches cards and controls, Enter or Space activates them, and Escape clears a pass selection.

Computer turns resolve together after your choice. The current and last trick show their public cards in play order. Practice Undo restores your previous choice and the AI responses that followed it. This may reveal information when you try again, so local results are not competitive rankings. Rules hints explain legal play and do not reveal hidden cards or the winning path.

Where is my progress saved?

Your current match and unlocked levels stay in this browser only. Hearts does not sync with an account or another device. Clearing browser storage removes local saves. These opponents are AI, not online multiplayer players.
